Hollywood star Matthew Rhys bought shares in a pub poet Dylan Thomas used to visit.
The Welshman, who has starred in films alongside Tom Hanks and Merryl Streep, has invested in the Aeron Valley, at Ystrad Aeron, near Felinfach, Ceredigion.
The pub closed years ago and was on sale for £ 325,000. In August, a company, the Vale of Aeron Campaign, was launched to reopen it as a community-owned public and cooperative house.

They have set a target of raising £ 330,000 through shares by December 12, and so far they have raised over £ 100,000. Each share costs £ 1, with a minimum stake of £ 200 and a maximum stake of £ 30,000.
Each shareholder automatically becomes a member of the Company, which gives him or her a say in the management of the advertisement. Each member has one vote, regardless of the number of shares he buys.
In a Twitter post, Matthew Rhys said: “I just bought shares in a pub Dylan Thomas frequented… If you would like to do the same… @TafarnYVale”
The initiative follows in the footsteps of a community business to buy the former Ty’n Llan pub in the village of Llandwrog, Gwynedd, which was supported by actor Rhys Ifans. He was able to reach his fundraising goal of £ 458,400.
