Heung-min Son boasts an excellent goalscoring record against Manchester City and hopes to regain form as team-mate Harry Kane closes in on Premier League milestone

Heung-min Son hopes he can get back to form this weekend as Tottenham host Manchester City on Sunday.

Son has struggled for Spurs this season, having scored just four goals in 19 games so far and his recent performances have been criticized.

His position in the line-up has been questioned but he has continued to start for Antonio Conte’s side and that perseverance could pay off as he boasts a great record against Man City.

In 16 appearances he has netted seven times, with the forward only scoring more against three other teams throughout his career in all competitions.

Son only found the net against Borussia Dortmund, Leicester and Southampton, scoring 12 times in 16 games against the Saints.

This time around, Son will have more hope than ever that he can start his in-form turnaround with another goal against the Citizens.

However, he’s not the only player looking for an important goal this weekend.

Of course, Son will be joined in the top three by Harry Kane and he will also be looking for the back of the net with a milestone in sight.

Kane is on 199 Premier League goals after 303 games and one more would see him join Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney as the third player to reach 200.

Although his journey to the milestone is even more impressive than both England legends, reaching the number in fewer games than both.

Rooney reached 200 goals after 462 games while Shearer reached 306, giving Kane just a few more appearances to find that illustrious goal and break his record.

With Son and Kane looking for important strikes, Tottenham will be hoping they can win this weekend.

A win for Spurs would dent Man City’s title hopes, but also give their bitter rivals Arsenal a huge boost to the top of the table.
