HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall released his 2021-22 men’s non-conference basketball schedule on Monday. It offers eight games, in addition to a pair of home shows.
“Our non-conference schedule includes a good mix of games that will provide our team with enough variety to help us grow and perfect our game,” said Marshall’s men’s basketball coach Dan D’Antoni.
“This is highlighted by many top schools who will be competing in their conference championships with home games against Northern Iowa, Wright State and Duquesne among others who will bring exciting games to The Cam.
“When you add road trips to Indiana, Ohio and Toledo with others mixed in, it creates an exciting 2021-22 season. We are ready and hope our fans will come back to The Cam and follow The Herd. “
The herd begins the campaign with shows against Davis & Elkins on October 31 and Pikeville College on November 7 at the Henderson Center.
MU then has five straight home games to start the regular season with games against Wright State (Nov. 12), Milligan University (Nov. 15), Campbell (Nov. 18), Jackson State (Nov. 21) and Louisiana (Nov. 23). ).
Marshall’s first road game will be against Big Ten, Indiana on November 27 at Assembly Hall in Bloomington. After this match, the herd travel to Akron, a former Mid-American Conference rival, on December 1.
The Greens and Whites return home on December 4 to welcome Duquesne and December 8 when they host Bluefield College.
The herd is back on the road for a pair of contests, starting with EKU on Dec. 11 before heading to Athens, Ohio, to face the Ohio Bobcats on Dec. 15. Ohio reached the second round of the 2021 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament last season. .
MU will then host northern Iowa on December 18 for its final non-conference home game of 2021 at the Henderson Center.
Marshall then concludes the out-of-conference game in the 2021 NIT qualifier in Toledo on December 21.
