Speaking to The Mirror, Helen George – who plays Trixie in the hit series – revealed she had spoken with creator Heidi Thomas who said she wanted to follow the timeline as nuns existed until the early 1970s.
Heidi’s husband Stephen McGann, who plays Dr Patrick Turner, added: “I think historically it has a natural, general timeline.” If you stay at a level of historical accuracy, it won’t last forever in this form, because it didn’t back then.
The 11th season of Call The Midwives saw Trixie find love with single father Matthew Aylward and will also cover illnesses such as scabies, chicken pox and measles.
