Heather Knight has accused India of “lying” over the controversial end of their One Day International (ODI) series against England.
England had come close to an unlikely victory in their first clash at Lord’s in five years, but India clinched victory by 16 points when Charlie Dean was knocked out on the non-striking side.

Dean left his pitch early and India’s Deepti Sharma pulled bail after stepping into his delivery stride.
Sharma has never kicked the ball – the throwback is otherwise known as ‘Mankad’.
Named after Indian international Vinoo Mankad, an expert in the art, the ‘Mankad’ is licensed in cricket.
Sharma has since claimed she gave Dean ‘repeated warnings’ to quit his crease before kicking him out to the non-attacking side, telling reporters: ‘It was a plan, because we warned her. [for leaving the crease early] Many times.
“We did things according to the rules and guidelines. We also told the referees, but she was there [outside the crease]. We couldn’t do much.

But on Twitter, injured England skipper Knight denied Dean had received a warning.
She wrote: “Game over, Charlie was rightfully fired.
“India were the deserved winner of the match and the series, but no warning was given.
“They don’t need to be given away, so it didn’t make the dismissal any less legitimate.
“But if they are comfortable with the decision to affect exhaustion, India shouldn’t feel the need to justify it by lying about the warnings.”
