Stuart Holden claimed on Twitter that Leeds United midfielder Tyler Adams will join a “top” Champions League club if he continues his current form amid his recent World Cup displays in Qatar.

The United States captain produced a man-of-the-match display in his side’s goalless draw against England on Friday and Holden believes he was “outstanding” at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha.

The 23-year-old signed for Leeds in the summer transfer window when Jesse Marsch’s side paid RB Leipzig (Sky Sports) £20million for the rising US star.

Many Leeds fans would probably agree that he has been one of his team’s best players this season, but former Premier League midfielder and United States international Holden believes that if he continues on this current path he will will be linked to the Champions League.

He could probably count himself lucky to have made Gareth Southgate’s 26-man squad because his form or his minutes didn’t deserve it, that’s for sure.

But as Adams prosecuted the likes of Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Harry Kane, Mason Mount and Bukayo Saka.

Phillips was watching from the bench because Leeds may have found an upgrade on the man they let go.
