Harry Kane has once again come to Tottenham’s rescue by capitalizing on two Michael Keane mistakes to earn some hard-fought points for Spurs at Goodison Park.
The England captain expertly scored his 20th and 21st goals of the season – canceling Gylfi Sigurdsson’s brace – to reinstate himself as the Premier League’s top scorer.
After a lackluster 25-minute opener, Spurs opened the scoring with their first shot on goal in the 27th minute when Michael Keane missed Tanguy Ndombele’s cross, allowing Kane to control and shoot into the bottom corner.
Tottenham’s lead lasted just four minutes as Everton equalized on the spot.
Sergio Reguilon crashed into James Rodriguez and Gylfi Sigurdsson sent Hugo Lloris the wrong way from 12 meters.
After Spurs had chances to regain their lead, Sigurdsson grabbed his second just past the hour with a nice strike.
Jose Mourinho’s men were opened and Seamus Coleman fell back on the Icelandic who shot into the far corner with a first arrival.
Spurs equalized in the 68th minute as Kane was on hand to shoot at home after more calamities in Everton’s box. Mason Holgate and Keane collided, allowing Kane to strike the house from eight yards.
It was the England captain’s 21st goal of the season and cemented his name atop the Premier League scorecard.
This is breaking news. Further updates will follow shortly.
