Hailey Bieber looked like Big Bird during Paris Fashion Week a few days ago – and that’s actually a compliment. She wore yellow from head to toe, including a fuzzy yellow bucket hat, and the internet has been obsessed ever since. It sounds like the type of outfit you’d expect to see at an awards show in the ’90s, but it actually showcases two of the biggest trends of the year, including one that we already know as her hubby. Justin Bieber is a huge fan.
The obvious trend for 2021 is color, which Pantone has named one of its big colors of the year. Paired with its other color of the year, gray, it reminds us of all the places we haven’t been able to go this year: Soul Cycle, Dry Bar, the list of yellow and gray establishments goes on and on. But yellow is also a literal sunbeam that (hopefully) represents the light at the end of the pandemic tunnel. It’s the literal color of happiness, and Bieber wore it so well that we wouldn’t be surprised if each brand started making their own take on their yellow leather blazer and dress pants. This will make the perfect exit look after Covid.
Stand Studio, a burgeoning brand that makes fuzzy outerwear that’s popular with the Instagram ensemble, is behind Bieber’s entire look, but it seems to be sold out everywhere. Fortunately, finding blazers and yellow pants isn’t that hard, but the star of the outfit is undoubtedly the Fuzzy Bucket Hat, which looks like something straight out of Justin’s wardrobe. The fuzzy hats may not have as much symbolism to examine as the color yellow, but they are available on Amazon for under $ 15.
Fuzzy hats are also popular among Gen Z, mainly because they were a key part of so many iconic cuts of the ’90s and early 2000s. Basically, be prepared to see them everywhere. These are easy statement pieces that don’t cost nearly as much as any other “It” item out there right now (aside from the statement face masks) and fit right into the theme of the past year: comfort. . Of course, they will look great with those Ugg boots you just bought, too.
Gigi Hadid pleaded for an entirely different headdress, the XXXL beanie, and Katie Holmes worked tirelessly to bring back the newsboy cap. And while the two also feel very vintage, neither has set the internet on fire as much as Bieber’s fuzzy bucket hat. Maybe that’s because Justin laid the groundwork for the trend of previous years. Either way, we are sold and buy more than a couple while also manifesting a world where we can finally travel to Paris and wear it.
