Gwyneth Paltrow’s eldest child, Apple, will soon be heading to college and, like any family, her passing marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.

“I know that sounds crazy,” Paltrow said in an interview on CBS Sunday Morning as she began to talk about leaving Apple for college. “But it’s almost as deep as giving birth.” While we don’t yet know what school her daughter will attend or what she will study, Paltrow previously congratulated her recent graduate, posting an Instagram story with her former husband, Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin, whom she “consciously decoupled”. starring in 2016 after 13 years of marriage.

Although the two are now separated, Paltrow explained that Martin is still “totally my family”, adding, “He would do anything for me. I would do anything for him. He would do anything. for our children. We are truly committed to wanting our children to be as divorce-free as possible.”

In addition to 18-year-old Apple, Paltrow and Martin also share 16-year-old Moses, who is only a few years away from potentially following in his sister’s footsteps. Additionally, Paltrow’s husband, Brad Falchuk, has two kids of his own, meaning she now has a bigger blended family.

With Apple in school and the CEO of Goop turning 50 this week, there are plenty of big milestones ahead for the whole family. But as Paltrow shared on Instagram, she’s already thankful for what the past few months have taught her, writing, “Summer 2022 you brought it all unceremoniously. Exhilaration, adventure, transition, joy and heartbreak. Thank you for your reminders, your connections and insights.” Now, it looks like she’s ready for the next leg of her journey with Apple, wherever that may take them both.
