Gwyneth Paltrow poses in her dressing gown as she shares snaps from a road trip in Italy

She marked a milestone last month when she reached her 50th birthday.

A Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated in style as she set off on a trip to Italy with husband Brad Falchuk and friends.

The actress took to Instagram on Thursday to give fans a sneak peek into the festivities, including several selfies, a glimpse of the delicious meals she enjoyed and an evening with fashion designer Brunello Cucinelli.

The Iron Man star looked stunning at a glance as she styled in just a dressing gown and slippers as she perched on the kitchen counter in her rented abode.

Gwyneth looked radiant as she put her makeup on for the snap while relaxing in front of stunning views of the Italian countryside.

She also left hysterical fans with a video of herself trying to use a toll machine, apparently struggling to understand the Italian instructions before screaming in delight as she was able to pass.

Gwyneth also found time for lunch with designer Brunello and her daughter Carolina, sharing a photo of the trio.

She captioned the snap: “Birthday trip to Umbria with a road trip or two.”

Brunello also shared a preview of the festivities on his Instagram page revealing that Cameron Diaz was also in attendance.

Alongside a group snap, he wrote: ‘I would like to thank dearest @gwynethpaltrow, @camerondiaz and other esteemed guests who honored us with their visit yesterday here in Solomeo, especially by praising the ‘rigatoni in tomato sauce and mozzarella “which I love so much.

Last month, Gwyneth penned a candid essay on her aging as she recounted how she had “accepted her body and let go of the need to be perfect” before reaching her milestone birthday.

She writes: “My body, a map of everyday evidence, is less timeless. A collection of marks and irregularities that scratch the chapters.

“Oven burn scars, a broken finger in a window a long time ago, the birth of a child.

‘Silver hair and fine lines. The sun left its heavenly fingerprints all over me, as if soaking a brush in dark taupe watercolor, brushing it across my skin.

“And while I do what I can to strive for good health and longevity, to avoid weakening muscles and receding bones, I have a mantra that I insert into these reckless thoughts that try to derail: I accept.
