WASHINGTON, November 24, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Stephen J. Brogan, Managing partner of Jones Day since 2002 announced the appointment of Gregory M. Shumaker in place of Managing partner of Jones Day from January 1, 2023. He thus becomes the eighth Managing partner in 130 years of the Firm’s history.

In addition to Mr. Brogan, previous Managing partners of Jones Day are Frank Ginn (1913-1937 which created the status of Manager [20 ans après la création du cabinet]), Tom Jones (1938-1947), Jack Reavis (1948-1974), Allen Holmes (1975-1983), Dick Pogue (1984-1992) and Pat McCartan (1992-2002).
Mr. Shumaker is a graduate of brown university and the Faculty of Law Notre Dame Universitywhere he was editor of the Law Review. He has spent his entire career with Jones Day in the office of Washington. Mr. Shumaker was co-opted a partner in the firm in 1997 and has since held numerous management positions. In particular, he was partner in charge of the office of Washingtonpartner in charge of global recruitment and since 2015 has led the practice Global conflicts of the Firm, which has more than 200 lawyers worldwide who act in international arbitrations, investigations and cross-border litigation before courts outside the United States. Under the direction of Mr. Brogan, Jones Day expanded to 600 lawyers and 18 additional offices, has its presence in Australia, expanded into Latin America and reopened offices in the Middle East. Mr. Brogan further developed the pro bono commitments of Jones Day.
