New updates are added at the bottom of this story …….
The original story (published December 10, 2021) follows:
Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are arguably the best smartphones from Google to date. Equipped with the in-house developed Tensor SoC, these new handsets have a lot to offer, such as improved cameras, an all-new design, a Titan M2 security chip and much more.
Along with these features, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are also filled with various kinds of issues. Since their launch, users have encountered many bugs with these handsets.
Hopefully Google seems to be working on some of these bugs, as the upcoming December update for Pixel 6 devices mentions a lot of bug fixes.
Pixel 6 disconnects from Android Auto
However, it looks like the series of issues with Pixel 6 phones isn’t over yet. Some Pixel 6 users are now reporting a new issue with Android Auto.
Users complain that their Pixel 6 device occasionally disconnects from Android Auto. Here are some reports for reference:
I am using the Goolge Pixel cable sold by google to connect to my Audi MMI 2018 system with pixel 6. So far no troubleshooting steps have solved this problem. I turned off battery saving modes, tried 4 other different cables, reset the MMI system on the car. Nothing worked. Please send me information on how to submit a bug report or what else I can do to resolve this issue. (Source)
Same problem with pixels 6 and 21 kia eniro. Pixel 3 connected with no problem with a cable, now it doesn’t connect at all. I am using the same cable but the message says cannot connect with the phone. frustrating. (Source)
Apparently, older Pixel devices work fine with Android Auto. So, it is only Pixel 6 devices that have this problem.
And while some have easily overcome this problem by simply changing the cables, many users cannot fix it even by trying several workarounds.
Users say they have tried unplugging and plugging the phone back in, trying different cables, resetting the MMI system on the car, but nothing seems to work.
Google has not yet recognized this problem
Unfortunately, Google has not yet recognized this problem. We hope this issue will be resolved soon, as users cannot use Android Auto.
Rest assured, we’ll update the space below as we learn of something new regarding Pixel 6 disconnecting from Android Auto issue.
