The price of gold fell from Rs 40 to Rs 56,840 per 10 grams in the nation’s capital on Monday amid a drop in precious metal rates around the world, according to Securities. In the previous trade, the yellow metal touched Rs 56,880 for 10 grams.
Silver also fell from Rs 85 to Rs 68,980 per kilogram.
“Spot gold prices in the Delhi markets traded at 56,840 rupees per 10 grams, down 40 rupees per 10 grams,” an analyst at HDFC Securities said.
In the overseas market, gold was trading lower at $1,926 per ounce while silver was flat at $23.88 per ounce.
The Comex spot gold price is trading down 0.20% at $1,926 per ounce from its previous close, the analyst said.
