Gold prices in the nation’s capital fell 10 rupees to 50,783 rupees per 10 grams on Tuesday amid rupee appreciation, according to Securities. In the previous trade, the precious metal closed at Rs 50,793 for 10 grams.

Silver, however, jumped from Rs 774 to Rs 57,064 per kilogram, from Rs 56,290 per kg.

The rupiah rose 22 paise to 82.08 against the US dollar in early trading on Tuesday, following positive domestic stocks and an overnight drop in the dollar index.

In the international market, gold was trading green at $1,657 an ounce while silver was up at $18.91 an ounce.

“COMEX spot gold last traded at $1,657 an ounce slightly lower from late Monday, while silver prices rose following strength in the metals. In the near term, gold is expected to trade in a range with a positive bias on the back of a weaker dollar and falling treasuries as well as strong demand for physical gold,” Dilip said.
