The recently released musical comedy film showcases the talent of several other musicians and will soon be made available to the public on the Netflix streaming service.

Vivo follows the main character, voiced by actress Mary Poppins, as he attempts to reconnect his owner, Andres, with Marta Sandoval, a singer with whom he has previously collaborated.
Artists such as Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker and Brian Tyree Henry, among others, also lend their voices to the project.
The feature film entered development in 2016, although the Tony-winning playwright proposed an idea for an animated feature film to DreamWorks Animation over a decade ago.

Vivo was eventually taken over by Sony Pictured Animation and put into production, with Kirk DiMicco being appointed director the year work began on the project.
The cast for the feature was announced earlier this year by Deadline, which also noted that it would be released on Netflix.
Although the film was due for release in 2020, its premiere was postponed several times before being delayed due to the outbreak of the global pandemic.
The film finally had its world premiere on Friday and is scheduled to be released to the public on August 6.
