Is there a better partnership in world football right now than Harry Kane and Heung-min Son? Jason Cundy doesn’t think so.
In fact, the talkSPORT host is said to have the Tottenham duo over Roberto Firmino and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah right now.
Kane and Son combined for the NINTH time this season in Tottenham’s 1-0 win at Burnley on Monday night, making them the second deadliest duo in Premier League history – just behind Frank Lampard and Didier drogba.
Liverpool’s attack has dominated Europe in recent seasons, but with Gareth Bale still not involved Cundy now believes Spurs have a stronger attack than the Reds.
Cundy told Sports Bar: “It has been widely believed that the best of the top three, certainly over the past two years, in this country and across Europe, has been at Liverpool – Mane, Firmino and Salah.
“Right now, give me Kane on Firmino and Son on Salah.”
ALL-TIME PARTNERSHIPS PREMIER LEAGUE
36 – Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard (Chelsea)
29 – Harry Kane and Son Heung-min (Spurs)
29 – David Silva and Sergio Aguero (Man City)
29 – Robert Pires and Thierry Henry (Arsenal)
27 – Darren Anderton and Teddy Sheringham (Spurs)
England captain Kane has always been highly rated, but it’s only now that Son is getting the credit he really deserves, according to Gary Neville.
His been doing this for years, but the 28-year-old South Korean is rarely mentioned in the same breath as the Premier League’s top forwards.
Until now. Neville told Monday Night Football, “I think Son is so underrated and doesn’t have the glitz of some of the other top players in the league.
“He’s an absolutely incredible player, Son, he’s a brilliant player. It would be a nightmare to play against him, he does all the right things.
“You talk about Sterling regularly, we talk about Mane and Salah at Liverpool, he’s right there with them. If he was in Liverpool or City he would do what these guys are doing.
He added: “When Son was away last season he was a huge misfire. Like I said before the game, he doesn’t deserve it.
“I think Jose Mourinho was asked a question last week about when he becomes World Class Son and Jose said he’s already there.
“They (Kane and Son) are brilliant together, brilliant players and I think any team in the world would take Son. There isn’t a team in Europe or the Premier League that wouldn’t take it.
