Greenwood completed a season-long loan to the La Liga side on the final day of the 2023 summer transfer window.

During this period, the striker made 32 appearances for Getafe, scoring 10 goals and providing six assists.

It’s this kind of form that has led Getafe to open negotiations to extend his stay in Spain.

Although Greenwood is a player on Getafe’s radar, it is accepted that a permanent move could be difficult to achieve.

The Man United man is attracting considerable interest from across Europe, with the Red Devils keen to let him leave.

The striker was suspended by the Red Devils in January 2022 after being arrested for rape, assault and death threats.

United launched their own internal investigation after the CPS dropped all charges against Greenwood in February 2023, leading to a statement confirming their intention to remove him.

Greenwood has just over 12 months remaining on his contract, meaning this summer will be the last chance to attract a significant fee for the player.
