Gervonta Davis posted and quickly deleted a mocking image of Floyd Mayweather on Instagram on Sunday night.
The American starlet has had a difficult relationship with her mentor Mayweather Promotions since he became world champion for the first time in 2017.
There have been times over that five-year span when Gervonta and Floyd have appeared side by side and presented a united front.
And there were also times when the couple were clearly at odds, taking not-so-subtle shots at each other via the media or online.
Prior to Tank’s final fight against Rolly Romero, he publicly announced that his contract was expiring and stated that he would be leaving Mayweather Promotions in the near future.
However, following his knockout victory, no such split has occurred and it appears that Gervonta is still working with the company – which is led by CEO Leonard Ellerbe – to plan its next fight.
Now, however, he has taken to social media again to disrespect Floyd in a not-so-subtle way.
On Sunday night, he posted a series of images on Instagram, including an image of Mayweather photoshopped to look like he wasn’t wearing pants.
This image was deleted Monday morning.
In truth, all this back and forth seems to be the least of Gervonta’s problems.
The American faces jail time for an alleged hit-and-run in November 2020 after a judge rejected a plea deal.
The American boxing star had accepted a deal that would have allowed him to avoid prison, but it was refused during a hearing.
Gervonta will now go on trial in December.
