The Protec Q18 is a German motorhome that is packed with great features. The most notable thing is that there are two sliding panels which add almost 1.2 meters in width to increase the living space when it’s time to stop and rest.
The video above is in German, but the visuals are self-explanatory enough to understand what is going on.
The Q18 takes its name from the 18 square meters (193.8 square feet) of interior space. Power extending steps provide a way to get into the vehicle, and this motorhome has everything you could want inside.
One of the most surprising features is something you usually don’t see on a motorhome of this size. There are separate areas for the shower and the toilet. While this might seem like a big deal at first, it does mean that someone can clean up and another person can use the bathroom at the same time.
Further back there is the main sleeping area which includes a raised bed. The area also has an opening panel in the roof to enjoy a view of the stars. Closets provide a place to store clothes.
The kitchen includes a large sink and a gas hob with three burners. Other amenities include a coffee maker, oven, freezer, and fridge, which seems like all a person could need. A large table appears to be large enough to seat at least six people.
A second sleeping area is located above the driving cockpit.
The Q18 is based on the Iveco Daily. It has an engine producing 207 horsepower (155 kilowatts) and 347 pound-feet (470 Newton-meters). There is an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to a two-wheel rear axle with a locking differential.
Below the main sleeping area you can see an access point to the kennel, and there is another opening for it on a rear door from the outside. The storage area on the other side contains a small camping stove and a pull-out TV.
