Geri Horner shares a kiss with her husband Christian at the Saudi Arabian Formula One Grand Prix – as seen for the first time since the sudden death of her brother Max Halliwell

Geri Horner was seen with her husband Christian on Sunday at the Saudi Arabian Formula One Grand Prix – marking his first public appearance since the sudden death of his brother Max Halliwell last month.

The Spice Girl, 49, planted a kiss on her partner, 47, who is the manager of the Red Bull team.

The couple were also seen chatting ahead of the start of the race.

It comes after Geri remains “completely broken” after the sudden death of her older brother, who died aged 54 after collapsing at home last month.

Max Halliwell was in intensive care at Watford General Hospital after falling ill at his home in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, before his death.

Geri and Max are known to be incredibly close, with her older brother helping her escape chaos from Britain when she suddenly left the Spice Girls in their prime in 1998.

He celebrated his 30th wedding anniversary with his wife Sue in August and the couple have two children, Lucia and Mark.

Colleagues who worked with him at Mitsubishi told MailOnline he was a “big guy” who was “passionate about the environment” and became vice president of the Heat Pump Association earlier this year. He was also crazy about cars and motorcycles, one said.

An investigation will be held and it is not yet clear why he fell ill, who called the police and what was the cause of his death.

Max, an executive at a green tech company, was a pillar of strength and a shoulder to mourn his famous sister on. He appeared alongside her in a 1999 documentary about his life after the Spice Girls.

“She barely knows what to say or think right now – she loved him dearly,” a friend said.

Max’s death at a young age will be doubly devastating for Geri, who struggled to cope with the sudden death of their father Laurence from a heart attack in 1993. It was Max who found him dead.

The insider told The Sun, “This is the most horrible, devastating and heartbreaking news and Geri is completely devastated by it.

“It has been a terribly traumatic time since hearing that Max had been taken to hospital, and the worst outcome all close to the family hoped was not.”
