THREE of Hollywood’s leading men are about to be reunited for Ocean’s next film – 15 years after the last episode.

George Clooney, 61, Brad Pitt, 58 and Matt Damon, 51, will be back in action for Ocean’s Fourteen after swearing the 2007 American film Ocean’s Thirteen would be their last.

“Rumours of a movie starring George, Brad and Matt have swirled for years, but the timing was off and their hectic schedules meant it just wasn’t possible,” a source said.

“Finally the right team for the job came together with the aim of making it a huge success and the main stars thought it would be a lot of fun to come back.

“The franchise is hugely popular and the brilliant script was an opportunity too good to miss.”

George, who plays Danny Ocean, Brad, better known as Rusty Ryan, and Matt, who plays Linus Caudwell, worked side by side in Ocean’s Eleven, Twelve and Thirteen trilogy.

However, the sudden death of actor Bernie Mac, who died aged 50 in August 2008 from pneumonia, put the possibility of a sequel on hold.

Don Cheadle, 57, also known as explosives expert Basher Tarr, said: “We were talking about it and then Bernie died, and very quickly we were like, ‘No, we don’t want to do this.

Clooney paid tribute to his late co-star, who played Frank Catton in the Ocean’s franchise, and said at the time, “The world just got a little less funny. He will be greatly missed.”

Meanwhile, Damon hinted last year that he would be set for a sequel, but revealed that was in the hands of franchise head Steven Soderbergh.

Speaking on Good Morning America, he said: ‘It would always be up to Steven Soderbergh if there was a story.

The Oscar-winning actor also referenced his late co-stars Bernie and Carl Reiner, who died in June 2020 at the age of 98.

“We lost a few of our members so we’ll have to figure it out, we’re a burnt out gang now,” he added.
