There are seven NBA games on Tuesday night as the season draws to a close. Of course, there is so much going on in the basketball world that impacts your DFS and your approach to betting every night. Let’s take a look at a few things that stand out to me for Tuesday.
The Sacramento Kings remain extremely stoned. De’Aaron Fox is still questionable, while the Kings have just watched Tyrese Haliburton suffer a knee injury that looks unpleasant. In his absence Buddy Hield stepped in and scored 27 points on 19 shot attempts and we have to take a long look at his point props if Haliburton and Fox are ruled out.
With both players off the floor this season, Hield is posting a solid 24% utilization rate, and it’s an incredible game, as the Thunder are giving away the most points per game to opposing shooters offscreen this season (6.4 ). Hield, meanwhile, is averaging 2.7 points per offscreen game this year, which is good for fifth place in the NBA.
We’re also getting a rematch between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Brooklyn Nets, which was a really fun game this weekend. However, while both teams have plenty of offense at their disposal, I’m leaning to the underside in this game. The total opens at around 243 points, which is an incredibly high number. This game reached 231 points in the last game, although both teams shot just over 40% from beyond the arc. Sure, both teams beat their implied totals at the league’s top five rates, but 243 points is a lot and I’m playing it safe here.
Finally, I like that the Clippers win at least 8.5 points at home against the Raptors. Fred VanVleet didn’t play Sunday with a hip problem and if he’s out again I just feel better with that prediction. But the point is, the Raptors aren’t a very good team, the Clippers are getting Kawhi Leonard back and they’re at home. They have also covered the spread in 56.2% of their games this season, good for the fifth-highest rate.
