It looks a lot like the Galaxy S23
Samsung is gearing up for an intense 2023. Editing intelligence suggests that the Galaxy S23 lineup is about to undergo a significant design change that will bring the S23 and S23+ in line with the design of the nascent Ultra lineage. These two phones may not be the only phones in the company’s portfolio to make this change: if other leaks are accurate, we could also see an almost identical design on the upcoming mid-range Galaxy A34.
New CAD renders of the Galaxy A34 have been published on Giznext, courtesy of OnLeaks, and they show off Samsung’s upcoming budget phone from multiple angles. The untrained eye might not be able to differentiate the A34 from the S23 unless it knows what to look for. At first glance, we notice that this device looks quite similar to the Galaxy S23 smartphones from several angles with some minor differences such as the slightly lower rear flashlight.
That’s not to say the two phones are identical – when you move forward you’ll see a teardrop notch instead of the punch-hole cutout we normally see on flagship phones and high-end phones.
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen this design as the Galaxy A13 did it first. But it could become common in the A range. At the bottom we have a USB-C port, while at the top we can spy a SIM card slot.
Overall, these renders set up the Galaxy A34 as a solid budget phone, though we’ll have to see its spec stack once it’s released. This should happen in the first half of 2023, most likely after the announcement of the Galaxy S23 series. If you’re looking for a cheap phone, this one might be worth the wait – it’s likely to become one of the best cheap phones out there.

Correction
An earlier version of this article was posted which mistakenly mentioned that the Galaxy A34 has a headphone jack. OnLeaks clarified that This is not the case, even though the original source (Giznext) mentioned that it had one. The article has been updated by removing the erroneous information.
