If you are an Ed Sheeran fan, you already know the man has a way with words. And even if you don’t listen to his music, there’s a good chance you’ll come across songs he wrote for other famous acts that you didn’t even know.
For this list, we’re taking a look at some of our favorite tracks from artists like Justin Bieber, One Direction, and Rita Ora, which you probably didn’t know Ed Sheeran wrote / co-wrote.

1. Justin Bieber – Love yourself
Love yourself was a huge hit for Justin when he fell in 2015. The song was written by Ed alongside Justin and Benny Blanco.
According to Billboard, Ed later revealed that the song was not originally intended for Justin and was meant to be part of his 2017 album, To divide, but “just wouldn’t have done it.”
2. Major Lazer ft Justin Bieber and MØ – Cold Water
Ed teamed up with Justin and a few other names again for this 2016 hit.
3. One Direction – Small things
This 2012 song definitely has what Ed Sheeran feels. Which makes sense since the singer was one of the songwriters for the song.
4. Anne-Marie – 2002
Yep, you guessed it, Ed wrote this fun track alongside Anne-Marie. Watch them play together below.
5. Rita Ora – Your song
This one was co-written by Ed and producer Steve Mac.
6. Jess Glynne – Thursday
This powerful hymn also has a touch of Ed Sheeran. The singer wrote it alongside Jess and Steve Mac.
7. Benny Blanco with Halsey and Khalid – Eastside
And finally we have this awesome track from Benny Blanco that Ed also lent his talents to.
