Despite averaging just 3.8 PPG for his career, 26-year-old Patrick McCaw is a three-time NBA champion. Earning two rings with the Golden State Warriors and another with the Toronto Raptors, McCaw celebrated the titles every summer from 2017 to 2019.
In a recent interview with The Associated Press’ Tim Reynolds, McCaw said: “I want to come back to the NBA. I know it’s a process. And I know that someday, when, next week, next month, the next year, when it’s supposed to happen, it will happen, but right now I’m just focusing on this United States, wearing these three letters, giving my all for this team and representing the United States of America.
McCaw last played NBA basketball for the Toronto Raptors, appearing in just five games during the 2020-21 season before being waived in early April. Still 26, McCaw is looking to reestablish himself on an NBA roster.
Despite his desire to return to the NBA, McCaw made sure to stress that his focus is on American basketball at the moment. With training camp set to begin at the end of this month, McCaw may be able to get an invite from an NBA team, with a chance to make it on their off-camp roster.
For now, the three-time champion is maintaining his skills with American basketball, but is definitely considering a return to the NBA at some point.
