Here, WhoScored.com has picked out five linked to a move to the Gunners this offseason.

Viktor Gyokeres – Sporting CP

Since the start of the year, Arsenal have been linked with the transfer of Sporting CP hitman Viktor Gyokeres, and for good reason.

The Swede has been sensational in La Liga Portugal this season with 29 goals and a further 10 assists.

As expected, Gyokeres is the highest-rated player in the division with a WhoScored.com rating of 8.04.

Gyokeres’ selflessness towards the game is one of the main reasons why Arsenal have been credited with their interest in the 25-year-old.

The former Coventry man is keen to link up with his teammates, with his 10 assists coming from 47 key passes the 12th most in the division, while 66 successful dribbles are the second most in the top flight Portugese.

Gyokeres is more than capable of breaking through opposition backs, which explains the high interest in his services.

Benjamin Sesko – RB Leipzig

After struggling to get regular playing time during the first half of the season, Benjamin Sesko is enjoying a long career in the RB Leipzig starting XI and recently scored his 10th league goal of the season during a player of the match performance at FC Heidenheim.

With a £42.7 million release clause in his contract that could be activated this summer, expect a rush to secure the 20-year-old’s services.

Sesko’s willingness to position himself on the flanks, combined with his consistency in front of goal, means interest in his services this summer will be high.

Of the 108 players who have taken 25 or more shots, only Serhou Guirassy (32.1 percent) has a better conversion rate than Sesko (25 percent) in the Bundesliga this season, while only Harry Kane (8) has scored more of the head. objectives (4).

He is a number nine with the desire to move away, which would suit Arsenal’s wingers. The Slovenian international could be perfect for the Gunners.

Victor Osimhen – Naples

After a superb haul of 26 goals in Napoli’s title-winning season under Luciano Spalletti, Victor Osimhen has had a subdued 2023/24 having scored just 13 times in the Italian top flight this season.

Injuries and managerial uncertainty have not helped the Nigerian hitman; he’s a far cry from the striker who grabbed the headlines last season.

Nonetheless, interest in Osimhen remains high. He has a €120m release clause in the contract he signed last December and in the modern market this is not such a stumbling block with potential suitors willing to spend big for secure the services of the 25-year-old.

However, while Arsenal are in need of a goalscoring striker, despite his impressive performances in front of goal, Osimhen’s desire to remain central could impact any potential pursuit, with the Gunners keen to add a more fluid striker to complement Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.

Alexander Isak – Newcastle

Newcastle may need to make a substantial sale this summer to remain compliant with the Premier League’s profit and sustainability regulations.

And while Bruno Guimaraes’ £100m release clause, which becomes active in the off-season, is the most viable option to raise funds, rumors surrounding Alexander Isak’s future at St. James’ Park fades into the foreseeable.

The Swede has been a revelation for the Magpies this season, scoring 17 times in England’s top tier, fifth in the division despite injury limiting Isak to 22 starts.

Of the 137 players to have taken at least 25 shots, Isak’s conversion rate of 27.9 per cent is the third best of the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, with the 24-year-old proving one of the leading strikers the most consistent in the division.

Combined with a tendency to drift towards the left flank, the space he frees up in the final third can be exploited by the wingers available to Mikel Arteta.

Joshua Zirkzee – Bologna

Spearhead of Bologna’s top four, Joshua Zirkzee has become a target for Arsenal this summer.

The Dutch striker has scored 11 times for the Serie A side this season, with Zirkzee one of the stars of Thiago Motta’s side.

A slow burner having scored just two league goals in his debut campaign for Bologna, the youngster is now attracting interest from Arsenal, Manchester United and AC Milan as the trio look to strengthen their front lines respective.

And it’s not just Zirkzee’s goals that have helped boost his notoriety. While the former Bayern player has four assists to his name, that figure could well be higher if his teammates regularly wore their shooting boots.

Only Rafael Leao (17) and Federico Dimarco (14) have created clearer chances than Zirkzee (11) in the Italian elite this season.

The Bologna man’s game requires refinement, but Arteta has helped improve Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz during his time at the club.

He would view Zirkzee as a long-term project who could well complement the trio in the Gunners’ frontline.
