Tottenham and awards don’t usually go well together, so when James Maddison received an unwanted one, the smile was quickly wiped from his face.
Tottenham’s social media team handed out a series of prizes to the players as they headed to training, including a gong for best haired, worst dressed and most addicted to their phones.

Emerson Royal won the Worst Dressed award while Radu Dragusin won the Best Hairstyle award, after voting for her flowiness.
While some took their jokey awards on the chin, Maddison didn’t seem too happy to receive her individual award – for being the biggest diva.
After receiving the award in the foyer of Tottenham’s training center, he joked: “I’m going to need to know who voted for that!”
And fans were amused when a video emerged of him in the locker room, joking he was doing his best not to seem like he was bothering him.
Ultimately, that wouldn’t have given Maddison someone who doesn’t let the little things get her down. As he walked past his teammates in the locker room, he said: “Sorry, guys. I’m going to stop being a diva.”
When Heung-min Son asked him what he thought of the reward, he replied, “Get out of the way,” while sorting the laces of his boots. “No one wanted to vote for the biggest divas, because they are all divas.”
Another voice was then heard saying: “Your reaction makes you want a diva. »

Maddison was later seen laughing, along with his teammates. This season, since signing from Leicester, he has proven to be a big success on the pitch.
On Wednesday, he opened the scoring against Newcastle in a post-season friendly in Melbourne before Tottenham ultimately lost on penalties after Alexander Isak’s equalizer.
After signing for Spurs in the summer, the 27-year-old was immediately named one of the club’s ‘captains’ under Ange Postecoglou.
Although injuries delayed his debut campaign, he still contributed four goals and nine assists in 28 Premier League appearances for Tottenham.
His arrival also helped Tottenham completely change tactics from the previous season under defensive-minded Antonio Conte to a more attacking style under Postecoglou.
Maddison’s impact helped Spurs finish fifth in the Premier League, meaning they will play in the Europa League next season.
It could have been a poor end to the year for the north London side, but it remains an improvement on their eighth-place finish last campaign.
