Floyd Mayweather believes Deontay Wilder can defeat Tyson Fury in their fight for the trilogy – but only if he trains him.
The British boxer beat Wilder hard last month in a seventh round stoppage and a third fight is now scheduled for the pair this summer.

Tyson Fury dominated Deontay Wilder in their fight, but Floyd Mayweather thinks his compatriot can beat him if he trains him
Wilder was abandoned by the Gypsy King twice in combat and then blamed his defeat on his ring ring attire, which he said ran out of energy despite the formation of weighted vests heavier than his extravagant equipment.
And Mayweather, who retired from unbeaten boxing with a 50-0 record in 2017, thinks his fellow American has what it takes to defeat Fury if he listens to what he has to say.
During a question and answer session while touring the UK, the 43-year-old said, “If I train him. If I train him, I can teach him to win. “
Mayweather supported Wilder to defeat Fury in their rematch, claiming that he had gained too much muscle before their fight.
And after predicting the result incorrectly, he sent a message of support to his compatriot.
“Win, lose or shoot…. Deontay is our brother who has accomplished many triumphs, “he posted to his 23 million followers on Instagram.
“As a community, we must all elevate and support it throughout all of this. Either way, you’re still a winner in my eyes, King! “
Meanwhile, Frank Warren revealed in his talkSPORT column last week that Wilder had made it clear that he wanted a trilogy fight and that it should take place in July.
And then he told the Sports Breakfast Show on Monday morning that this was to happen on the other side of the pond according to the original contract.
“It will take place in late June / early July – at the latest.”
