Floyd Mayweather picked up another victory after his retirement by stopping Japanese mixed martial artist Mikuru Asakura at the end of the second round on Sunday in Saitama, Japan.

“Money” seemed to have complete control of the fight until Asakura hit him with a right hook in the final minute of round two.

Mayweather was fighting in Japan for the second time since retiring

The 30-year-old, 18-fight MMA veteran followed up his most important fighting moment with a left hand seconds later, resulting in a wry smile from Mayweather who was forced to back down.

However, Mayweather quickly made his opponent pay for showing any kind of ambition by cracking him with three straight right hands that ended the fight.

Asakura fell to the ground just before the bell rang to end round two. He struggled to get back to his feet but was unable to do so before referee Kenny Bayless finished his 10 count.

The American referee dropped the fight and Mayweather picked up another victory in his fourth fight since retiring in 2017 after taking his perfect boxing record to 50-0 by beating UFC superstar Conor McGregor.

Although he walked away from professional boxing, Mayweather fought Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, YouTuber Logan Paul and his former sparring partner Don Moore in exhibition bouts before his last fight with Asakura.

Ahead of his latest outing, the 45-year-old confirmed he would return to the ring later this year for a fight with KSI’s YouTuber brother Deji, who picked up his first professional boxing victory last month.

Now he will fight Deji

“So I have one with the Deji guy,” Mayweather told TMZ Sports. “I want to make sure I say it right, it’s Deji, right?

“We are going to do an exhibition in Dubai at the Coca-Cola Arena, that is in November.”

Deji has had a mixed boxing career so far, losing his first three fights including a first stoppage loss to Jake Paul.

In his last contest, however, the YouTuber redeemed himself somewhat by stopping fellow social media star Fousey on the undercard of his brother KSI’s event where he knocked out two opponents in one night.

Deji has yet to address the fact that he will be fighting one of the greatest boxers of all time, but KSI said if the fight goes ahead he will be at ringside.

And he wants to see his younger brother “beat the f*** of Mayweather Jr.”
