England’s Tommy Fleetwood leads Rory McIlroy by one stroke after shooting an under-par 63 in the third round of the Dubai Invitational on Saturday.
World number 15 Fleetwood made eight birdies in a bogey-free round to move to the top of the leaderboard at 15 under.
McIlroy, who led by two after the first two rounds, had five birdies and a bogey on his 67 on the third day.
Denmark’s Thorbjoern Olesen is three points off the lead, with Zander Lombard, Thriston Lawrence and Jordan Smith at 11 under.
Fleetwood had four shots on his first nine holes on the first, third, fourth and sixth holes and followed up with birdies on 10, 12, 13 and 14 on the back nine.
The European Ryder Cup player enters the final round of a 72-hole DP World Tour event in the lead for the first time since 2014.
“I played very well, I had a perfect start and I was able to gain some momentum,” the English golfer told Sky Sports after his round.
“I read the greens well, I got that confidence and that rhythm and that flow. You get that confidence when you start making some putts.”
