In statements to Portuguese newspaper ‘Record’, he stressed that he would retire from football after his ‘death’.
He also confirmed that he is still deeply interested in football.
Regarding Rui Vitoria’s appointment to the Egyptian national team, the 75-year-old Portuguese coach said he was happy to appoint him to the Pharaohs.
It should be mentioned that Ferreira guided Zamalek to win the Egyptian League and Egyptian Cup titles.
Zamalek began their adventure in the Champions League in the round of 16 thanks to the classification of the Confederation of African Football.
The standings put Zamalek sixth after failing to qualify from the group stage for the past two seasons.
Zamalek president Mortda Mansour had announced that 10,000 fans would be allowed to attend the game.
