Ferrari unveils its 2024 Formula 1 car, the SF-24

The Italian team heads into the 2024 season feeling reinvigorated following the capture of Lewis Hamilton during the winter of 2025.

The high-profile signing is the culmination of what has been dubbed “Operation Relaunch” as Ferrari CEO John Elkann and team principal Fred Vasseur chart the Scuderia’s path back to the top of the league. Grid.

In the SF-24, Ferrari hopes to repair some of the problems that held back Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz last year.

Even though the team’s 2023 car proved lightning-fast over a single qualifying lap, it couldn’t match the race pace and consistency of benchmark Red Bull team.

In the end, the team only managed one victory throughout the campaign, thanks to Sainz’s success at the Singapore Grand Prix.

Ferrari is hoping that the developments made to the SF-24 will help it make good progress on this front and reduce the peak aerodynamic performance that was one of the key factors that overshadowed its F1 efforts throughout last season .

Although it is too early to judge realistic goals for the SF-24 car, and delivering a Red Bull beater may be too much to hope for, Ferrari is excited about the steps that have been taken and the plans that will take it into the Hamilton era. .

This was proven on the eve of Ferrari’s launch when Elkann took the unusual approach of traveling to the F1 factory to witness the finishing touches to the stickers of the new SF-24.

This shows that F1 is now very close to Elkann’s heart and that he is paying special attention to Grand Prix operations.

Optimism within Maranello is expected to grow in the coming weeks with the rumored arrival of around twenty new members to help the team take the steps it deems necessary to advance towards the front.

Fred Vasseur, team principal, said: “Introducing a new car to the world for the first time is always a very exciting moment for me and for the drivers, although we are all already thinking about the moment when we will face our rivals on track.

“This year we need to start where we left off at the end of last season, when we were consistently at the front, with a view to constantly improving in all areas.

“The longest Formula 1 season in history awaits us and Charles, Carlos and I all agree, we need to be more clinical and efficient in the way we manage the races, making bold choices, in order to to obtain the best possible result at each Grand Prix.

“It is often said that your fans can give you extra equipment and this will certainly be true in what will be a hotly contested championship and we are proud to know that we can count on our supporters from all over the world.”
