In his first two NFL seasons, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was generally only relevant to owners if they needed an emergency QB starter. However, now that Tagovailoa is surrounded by top guns like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Mike Gesicki, the Alabama product should be at the top of the fantasy football leaderboard. Tagovailoa is coming off an incredible week in which he threw for 469 yards and six touchdowns in a behind-the-scenes win over the Ravens. However, can you trust him enough to propel him into your Week 3 fantasy football rosters against a Bills defense that gave up just 17 points in two weeks against two playoff teams last season? A reliable set of Week 3 fantasy football QB ratings can help you ensure that you have optimized your fantasy football picks. Before you lock in your rosters, be sure to check out the Week 3 fantasy football rankings from SportsLine’s proven computer model. It can help you make those tough decisions about which players to start and which players to leave on the bench.

When it comes to player rankings, SportsLine’s model has beaten human fantasy football experts over the past few seasons, especially when there were large differences in rankings. Over the course of a season, it could literally be the difference between winning your league or going home empty-handed.

Last week, the model was extremely high on Packers running back Aaron Jones, saying he would finish among the top 10 players in his position. The result: Jones rushed 15 times for 132 yards and a touchdown, while catching all three of his targets for 38 yards and an extra score in Green Bay’s win over the Bears. Anyone who had him in their roster was on course for a huge week.

Now the model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, has revealed its fantasy football ranking for Week 3 of the 2022 NFL season. Head over to SportsLine now to see them.

Top Fantasy Football Picks of Week 3

One player the role model is high on this week: 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. With Elijah Mitchell set to miss at least eight weeks with a knee injury, the 49ers have turned to Wilson to perform a heavy workload in the first downs of Week 2. the fifth-year running back rushed the ball 18 times for 84 yards and also had two receptions for 19 yards in a 27-7 win over the Seahawks.

Now Wilson gets another favorable game against the Broncos in Week 3. The 49ers are favored on the road and with Jimmy Garoppolo replacing an injured Trey Lance, head coach Kyle Shanahan should want to continue using heavy offense. Additionally, Wilson should continue to dominate early and close-range work. That’s why the model ranks him in the top 20 running back options for Week 3.

And a huge shocker: Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, who has eclipsed 1,000 rushing yards in three of his last four seasons, is stumbling badly and failing to even make the top-20 at his position. Elliott led the Cowboys with 53 rushing yards in last week’s win over the Bengals but was less effective than Tony Pollard, who gained 98 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown on 13 touches.

Elliott has yet to find the end zone this season and now he will face a New York Giants defense that has yet to allow a rushing touchdown in 2022. Elliott is averaging just 3.5 yards per run against the Bengals and he was a non-factor in Dallas’ passing game. With such a tough game this week, Elliott is a player to consider benching in Week 3.
