Fans think Daphne is hiding this major secret from Cameron "The White Lotus"

The fifth episode of the second season of “The White Lotus,” which aired Nov. 27, left a major mystery at the center of Daphne’s (Meghann Fahy) and Cameron’s (Theo James) marriage. In the episode, Harper (Aubrey Plaza) is furious with Ethan (Will Sharpe) because he lied to her about what he and Cameron did while the two women were on a trip to Noto. Ethan only confesses when Harper finds a condom in their room, and he says that only Cameron slept with the sex workers, not him; he just molly with them.

Throughout episode five, Harper implies in front of Daphne that Ethan and Cameron did something wrong. When she finally brings Daphne outside alone after dinner, she tells her, “I think something happened when we were in Noto.” Daphne is confused. Harper doesn’t specify what she means with words but with a look. And that’s when Daphne drops her bombshell. She says, “I’m sure it wasn’t a big deal what happened. And if anything happens, you just do what you have to do to feel better.”

She continued, “I have this trainer in town, Lawrence. He’s so handsome, he’s got this blonde hair and these kind of big blue eyes. He’s really funny too. I spend more time with him than Cameron sometimes. because he’s so busy at work. He’s so cute. It seems like she’s saying she’s having flings to feel better about Cameron hanging out. But then she raises the bar even more.

Daphne offers to show Harper a photo of Lawrence the coach, but when she hands over her phone, he shows a photo of Daphne’s two children – a crying baby and a toddler who has big blue eyes and hair. blond. “Woopsie,” Daphne says when Harper tells her about her “mistake.” She adds: “Anyway, the thing is, maybe you should get a trainer.”

Is Daphne’s child her trainer?

It definitely seems like Daphne is implying that her oldest child is her coach’s and not Cameron’s, but Fahy thinks her moment between her and the Plaza characters is more complicated than that. She told UK Elle in an interview published Nov. 28 that the answer is unclear.

“In episode five, when she and Harper are sitting outside, it’s really dark,” she said. “[Creator Mike White] wants it to be very vague, obviously. But I think there are a lot of ways to take this scene. And I think one of those ways is you might wonder if Daphne is suggesting that her child is her coach’s child and not her husband’s.”

But is that really what happened? “There are so many layers in her that I don’t think you could count. I don’t know if that’s 100% the truth, I can’t say it’s because Mike didn’t tell me. didn’t even say if it was,” admitted Fahy. “But I think there is a world in which it is.”

It’s possible that Fahy is bluffing and we’ll find out the truth in the final two episodes, but for now it’s one of the show’s most compelling mysteries – besides which character from ‘The White Lotus’ will die. before the end of the season.
