Footage of Jorginho being passed over by a referee has resurfaced online after his move from Chelsea to Arsenal on deadline day.
After missing out on transfer target Moises Caicedo, the Gunners have opted to bring in the Italian midfielder for £12million as Thomas Partey’s back-up as they aim to win the Premier League.

However, while the Blues star was brought on to play for the team, some Arsenal fans weren’t particularly thrilled with their club choice, with the trending ‘#EduOut’ on Twitter as supporters took aim at their sports director.
talkSPORT’s resident Gunners fan Laura Woods also questioned the 31-year-old’s pace and ability to keep up with his new team’s young squad.
And, lo and behold, Twitter football had some upside and provided evidence that Jorginho might be slightly slower than manager Mikel Arteta would like.
Posted with the caption ‘Jorginho isn’t even faster than the referee’, a four-second clip of the Italian returning to his own half in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool in 2019 is now making the rounds.
In the clip, Jorginho originally starts in front of match referee Michael Oliver, jogging just behind the center circle.
But the official then quickly picks up the pace as the ball is carried down the pitch beyond them, overtaking Jorginho in the process and leaving the European Championship winner in his dust.

Jorginho then clocks in and digs deeper to push himself and follow the play, but takes some time to close in on the referee.
And as a result, fans cracked up on Twitter.
“That’s the energy he put into the race for me,” wrote one fan.
Meanwhile, another fan said: ‘Ref dropped gear on him then put him on cruise control’, while another user wrote: ‘I wonder who would win in a race of 100 m between him and [Sergio] Busquets.
But some fans rushed to defend Jorginho, with one saying: “A brilliant midfielder doesn’t need to be fast.”
To be fair to Jorginho, we can’t all be as fast as Mykhailo Mudryk!
It’s a good thing Arsenal didn’t bring him in to lead the chains…
