Former Ohio University Bobcats star Jason Preston scored the first points of his NBA career with a 3-pointer in the first quarter of the Los Angeles Clippers’ Tuesday night win over the Blazers at Portland.
It was Preston’s only goal attempt of the game in six minutes of action. He also got his first assist in the NBA.
Preston, selected 33rd overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, did not play last season due to a foot injury. He played three minutes in his debut for the Clippers on October 23.
The Clippers recalled Preston from their G-League affiliate, the Ontario Clippers, earlier today. In 10 games for Ontario, Preston averaged 12.5 points and 6.7 assists per game.
Social media reactions to Preston’s first NBA field goal:
Preston played three seasons at Ohio and helped the Bobcats win the automatic Mid-American Conference bid in the 2021 NCAA Tournament and upset Virginia in the first round.
