Carlo Ancelotti was charged with misconduct by the Football Association for his behavior at the end of Everton’s 1-1 draw against Manchester United.
The veteran Italian coach was left bubbling after the Toffees had a timeout strike by Dominic Calvert-Lewin excluded for offside following VAR intervention.
He was then sacked for protests by referee Chris Kavanagh after the final whistle at Goodison Park.
He has now been charged with FA, but it is believed that he will not be fined and will NOT be banned from contact if he accepts the charge.
This will allow him to instruct his team to visit his former Chelsea club.
An FA statement on Monday said: “Carlo Ancelotti has been charged with misconduct for violating FA rule E3.
“It is alleged that the language and / or behavior of Everton’s manager on the pitch at the end of the Premier League match against Manchester United on Sunday, March 1, 2020 is tantamount to improper conduct.
“He has until Thursday March 5, 2020 to respond.”
Everton thought he had snatched a final winner from United when Calvert-Lewin’s shot deflected Harry Maguire, only to have the effort rejected after Gylfi Sigurdsson was judged offside by video assistant referee Jon Moss.
Ancelotti said after the game, “Honestly, it was a tough decision. I think they are checking Gylfi’s position – who was offside. But in our opinion, it did not affect the goalkeeper’s vision. In their view, this affected the goalkeeper’s vision and movement. “
When asked if he had ever been fired as manager, Ancelotti replied with a laugh: “This is not the first time – and it will not be the last!
“I have never disrespected. It can happen. At the end of the match, I was a little nervous and maybe also the referee. We spoke friendly after the match. No problem.”
