Thomas Delaney stunned his Danish teammates in training on Tuesday by scoring an astonishing scorpion kick.
In preparation for his country’s World Cup qualifier against Austria on Wednesday, the 29-year-old pulled off an outrageous acrobatic effort to leave the players with their hands on their heads.
Borussia Dortmund’s first goal effort was stopped, but that didn’t matter as he converted the second attempt with an effort reminiscent of Colombian goalkeeper Rene Higuita’s goal-line clearance in 1995 .
The reactions from his teammates were invaluable as Delaney ran off to celebrate while two others had their hands on their heads.
You can watch Delaney’s incredible effort, below …
He is not the first Dortmund player to score a worldie in training during the international break.
Erling Haaland, who is football’s hottest property for his incredible scoring exploits this season, nearly broke the net in training in Norway as he shot in an unstoppable volley.
And Dortmund got hilarious wind of Delaney’s phenomenal effort on social media.
Delaney is not known for his offensive prowess. He has only scored three goals in 77 appearances for Dortmund in three years at the club.
His country occupies first place in Group F after two wins in their opening two matches, including an 8-0 victory over Moldova.
