England’s Mel Reid has been named one of Suzann Pettersen’s four vice-captains for this year’s Solheim Cup.
Reid will join European vice-captains Anna Nordqvist, Dame Laura Davies and Caroline Martens in assisting Pettersen in September.
Europe won the cup in 2019, 2021 and 2023 and will look to retain the trophy for a historic fourth time.
“Everyone knows how much the Solheim Cup means to me and how much I love being a part of it,” said Reid, 36.
“It brings out the passion and shows the best of what golf has to offer,” she added.
Reid made his debut in the competition in 2011 and was vice-captain in 2019.
Pettersen said she was “thrilled” to have the same team of vice-captains with the addition of Reid.
“It was a very natural choice for me and the rest of the team to bring Mel alongside us in a vice-captain role,” said the Norwegian.
“She has immense passion and a head for the Solheim Cup.”
The Solheim Cup will take place September 10-15 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Gainesville, Virginia.
