Stuart Pearce and Ally McCoist made big calls as they named a combined England and France XI.
Ahead of the Three Lions World Cup quarter-final against the Blues on Saturday night, Pearce was tasked by talkSPORT with naming who he would start if the two teams merge.
Both teams have immense quality all over the pitch, with players like Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe having shone so far in this tournament for their respective countries.
Some of football’s other top talent, however, failed to qualify in a combined XI, with England dominating the selections ahead of the defending champions.
Meanwhile, the defense might look more like Manchester United fans!
Speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, Pearce has designed a squad based on what he has seen at the World Cup so far.
He said: “Pickford would be ahead of Lloris. My two full-backs would be England full-backs, Walker and Shaw.
“I would have a central couple in the heart of the defense of Varane and Maguire. In midfield, I would have Rice and Bellingham, with Griezmann playing in front of them.
“And, Mbappe on the left side, Kane in the middle and the last choice was really difficult for me, it would be Saka or Dembele and I don’t know which one.”
Despite the difficult decision, fellow expert McCoist apparently provided a solution to such a conundrum.
“I don’t dispute any of that. I’d probably be a bit more vocal starting Dembele than Saka but I mean, they’re a team.
England will soon face France in the World Cup for the first time since 1982.
Mbappe, who has five goals for the tournament so far, did not take part in training for France on Tuesday but an injury for the 23-year-old has not been confirmed.
On the other hand, Rice was out for training in England on Wednesday due to illness, with the highly anticipated clash just three days away.
A victory would reward the Three Lions with a place in the semi-finals for the second tournament in a row, but they know they will face a tough test against the current holders.
