Emmy Rossum filmed an emotional scene in Los Angeles this week in which she broke a guitar.
The Shameless star, 35, stars as 1980s billboard icon Angelyne in an upcoming mini-series created by Lars And The Real Girl screenwriter Nancy Oliver.
She had an anguished expression on her face in her new scene as she lifted the guitar above her head to bring it down.

Her big scene begins when Angelyne is led down the sidewalk from behind by a man who is possibly meant to be the character’s beau, Jordan Michaels.
Jordan is the man who first discovered Angelyne when adding her to his group Baby Blue in the late 1970s.
The man in the scene has his hands over Angely’s eyes until he suddenly takes them off to show her surprise somewhere above.
Angelyne looks up in shock as the man behind her smiles in astonishment, obviously under the impression that she will be delighted with what he has done.

But instead, Angelyne gets angry, resulting in the fiery moment where Emmy was filmed breaking the guitar.
Emmy is a producer on the show with her husband Sam Esmail, who is best known for creating the Mr. Robot series.
Angelyne, who was born Ronia Goldberg in Communist Poland before immigrating to America, saw her true identity unearthed by The Hollywood Reporter.
This 2017 Hollywood Reporter article by Gary Baum forms the basis for the upcoming miniseries to air on Peacock.

Angelyne herself denounced the series to DailyMail.com last year as “completely fake” and “fictitious to the end”.
