Baby of mine: Emmy Rossum has revealed she nearly gave birth to her baby girl Samantha during her Uber ride to the hospital in May last year
She had visualized herself hanging on to the handle above a car door as the baby was crowned – and had come close to experiencing such an ordeal in real life.
“I ended up finding a lovely, very conscientious Uber driver, which isn’t what you want when you’re in labor,” the Shameless star recalled. ‘I want to go! Like it’s an orange, take it as a green and go.
When she was “minutes away from the hospital” she “was completely in contractions and didn’t realize I was nine centimeters dilated at the time, so it was really close.”
Emmy explained to Ryan, who has never had children, that she was “basically 10 minutes away from having a baby.”

She and her Uber driver were riding to the hospital and the light was like turning orange and I was like, “Come on, come on, come on, come on!” And he was like, ‘We’re just gonna – we’re just gonna hit the break and stop here.’ ”
Her Uber driver proceeded on the side of caution because, as he told her, he wanted her to get “safely” to the hospital.
‘And I was like, ‘I’d like that too!’ I’d like to make it happen,” said Emmy, who explained that her work “progressed very quickly” once it started.
Emmy is making the talk show circuit to plug her Peacock miniseries on kitschy 1980s icon Angelyne, she of the pink Cadillac and towering blonde mane.

Chat show set: This week during an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Ryan, she shared that the way her job turned out almost led to her having “my worst nightmare”
Angelyne first gained attention in the 80s when her notorious billboards popped up around Los Angeles and made her famous for her stardom.
She jealously kept her true identity a secret until Hollywood Reporter writer Gary Baum lifted the veil in 2017.
Angelyne was born Ronia Tamar Goldberg in communist Poland and immigrated to America with her parents, who survived Nazi concentration camps.
The Hollywood Reporter is one of the production companies behind the miniseries, which was created by Lars And The Real Girl screenwriter Nancy Oliver.

Angelyne herself denounced the Emmy show to DailyMail.com last year as “completely fake” and “fictitious to the core”.
She remarked, “I don’t think they want me to see it, and beyond that, I don’t want to see it,” but said she gave the makers notes on how it was “visually” shown.
“But no one will be like me,” she said. “There’s only one Marilyn, there’s only one Elvis, there’s only one Michael Jackson and there’s only one Angelyne. People can try to imitate but there is really only one.

The real deal: Angelyne herself denounced the Emmy show to DailyMail.com last year as ‘completely fake’ and ‘fictitious to the core’
During a new interview with Inside Edition, she explained that she “had a little glimpse” of the series “and I refused to watch it” because “it does not do me justice”.
Angelyne also took issue with The Hollywood Reporter’s characterization of her personal story, stating, “No, I was born Angelyne.”
She again denounced the show to TMZ, saying that no one but herself was fit to play it and therefore she was making her own movie about “the real Angelyne”.
