Emmerdale newcomer Mark Womack has revealed that his soap star wife Samantha is “taking the mick out” of her online learning method.

The 59-year-old actor, who joined the series as DI Malone, revealed that the former EastEnders actress – best known for playing Ronnie Mitchell – was teasing him about his anxiety.

Discussing her new role in Wednesday’s Lorraine episode, he said, “She just takes me mickey,” because I’m terrible at learning the lines.

Mark is thrilled to be working with the Emerdale cast and said he felt like he fit in from day one.
