And soap opera viewers went wild when they noticed that Ned Porteous had appeared in several scenes on the Netflix hit Bridgerton, as he played the high society role of Lord Wetherby.
Ned, 26, became a fan favorite on the ITV soap opera where he posed as businessman Tom Waterhouse in order to cheat on Debbie Dingle. [Charley Webb] between 2017-2019.

Ned’s character Lord Wetherby has featured in three episodes of the period drama, which has received huge audience figures since its launch in December.

Prior to his stint in the Dales, Ned also appeared as Michelle Fowler’s son, Mark in EastEnders in 2016.
He left Emmerdale to try to break into the theater industry in America, and his role in Bridgerton will no doubt help him.
Ned might even be set to reprise his role as it has been reported that the series could possibly go from being a sensation overnight to an eight-season run, according to the creator of the Netflix hit.
The series debuted on Christmas Day and has remained at the top of Netflix’s most watched list for the past two weeks, proving to be a massive hit.
And Chris Van Dusen, the showrunner, teased that he could have a very long lifespan.
Speaking to Collider this weekend, he said: ‘Being a family of eight kids and eight books, I wish I could focus and really tell stories and love stories for all of the siblings in Bridgerton. For each character, of course. I would like to.’
He explained that the first season was “ mostly about Daphne and her love affair with Simon, ” but there was a lot more to explore.
The show is based on Julia Quinn’s Bridgerton novels – the second titled The Viscount Who Loved Me.
