Elton John fans in Sunderland are counting the days until the music icon comes to the Stage of Light this Sunday, June 19, as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour.
The mammoth tour began in September 2018 and will see the star perform over 300 concerts around the world before concluding in July 2023. Sunderland is one of nine places in the UK where Elton is set to play this year, giving the kick-off. to Norwich and visit Liverpool before heading to the Stadium of Light.
There’s no supporting act lined up to back Elton, giving the singer time to treat fans to many of his biggest hits across the decades. Although Sunderland’s setlist has not been confirmed, songs played on previous legs of the Farewell tour give an indication of what Wearside fans can expect.
