What: After a 48-hour auction within NFT.NYC, a one-of-a-kind Rocket Man Jadu Hoverboard was sold to Sebastien B. for $80,000 / 75 ETH, with all sales benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation ( EJAF).
Where: Jadu founder and CEO Asad J. Malik publicly announced the sale at 8pm ET last night at a roller disco event in Central Park just before a surprise performance by British singer and rapper MIA.
Why: This sale marks the entry of world music legend Elton John into Web3 and the most expensive sale of Jadu’s popular NFT hoverboard collection.
Who: Jadu is an AR game world experience built around virtual objects owned by its community of gamers. Jadu is developing an AR mobile app, coming out of beta in summer 2022, that connects to gamers’ Ethereum wallets, allowing them to turn their 3D animated NFTs into playable avatars.
