The 2020 Republican National Convention ended Thursday (August 27) as President Trump delivered his address to party supporters. And in a surprise to everyone, the Rocket Man took to Twitter.
As a spokesperson, Trump used the platform to accept the party’s nomination for president. He didn’t have his way all the way as protesters gathered at the White House and threatened to drown out his big moment.
He was another 70-year-old whose name started trending on social media as Trump took on his supporters. When Ivanka Trump arrived on stage to introduce her father, she did so on the soundtrack to Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing”, which caused the British singer’s name to explode on social media.
Many wondered how long it would take before John’s lawyers got involved.
Bette Midler kept a comment throughout the week, but decided to switch to something a little light on Thursday. The Grammy winner handled a few hilarious tweets, while several other left-wing celebrities and musicians weigh in.
