Music legend Sir Elton John will perform his last Welsh concert in Swansea on Wednesday June 29, 2022 as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour, and it promises to be an evening to remember. The Rocket Man star will play for the second time at Swansea.com Stadium, which on this occasion comes at the end of his illustrious career. He has achieved one diamond, 40 platinum or multi-platinum and 23 gold albums, as well as more than 50 top 40 hits.
The 75-year-old has sold over 300 million records worldwide and holds the record for the biggest-selling single of all time, Candle In The Wind, which sold over 33 million copies in 1997. We reported how his last concert set a stadium attendance record at the time, with over 24,000 people in attendance that night. A plethora of star names followed his concert, including Pink on June 23, 2010 and Rod Stewart on June 1, 2011. JLS performed there on June 12, 2011, before the Kings of Leon followed on July 2, 2014. Manic Street Preachers were next on May 28, 2016, and Lionel Ritchie also wowed crowds that same summer. The last concerts we saw at the stadium were Take That which performed at the stadium on June 14, 2017, followed by The Killers on June 23, 2018 and Little Mix on July 7, 2018.

What time does Elton’s performance start?
Doors to the concert will open at 4:30 p.m., with Elton John’s performance beginning at 7 p.m. The organizers warn that the times are approximate and subject to change.

Will there be road closures in place?
There will be a partial road closure in place from 2.30pm on Brunel Way. Due to this road closure, spectators who have parking on site must access the car park via the A0467 expressway. There is no other access to this car park. A temporary road closure will also be in place at the end of the concert. The closure of the A4067 dual carriageway (opposite the stadium) will take place for at least 45 minutes, and roads will be reopened once it is safe to do so.
What items are prohibited in the stadium?
No professional recording or photography equipment will be allowed on site. No glass bottles or containers, metal cutlery, sharp objects or objects likely to compromise safety may be brought into the stadium. Fireworks, smoke bombs, flags, banners, poles, laser pointers, unmanned aerial vehicles (i.e. drones) or other similar items are not permitted in the stadium and anyone in possession of such items may be refused entry. No bags larger than A4 will be allowed in the venue or the outdoor village.
Where can I park my car?
A limited number of on-site parking spaces are now available at Swansea.com Stadium. These seats are available to purchase for £20 per car and will not be available after 5.30pm. You can buy it by clicking here. There is a ‘park and walk’ service at the Landore Park and Walk site. This car park is operated by Swansea Council and can be booked via their website by clicking here. The car park will open from 3 p.m. and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Therefore, we strongly recommend that you reserve your space in advance.
Tickets are charged at £15 per car (with a maximum of 4 passengers) or £20 per minibus (with a maximum of 12 passengers). Customers who purchase these tickets will receive an e-ticket when it is ready.
Which buses will run?
Normal city center buses will be in service prior to the event. Buses 4 and 4a depart from Swansea Quadrant and stop opposite Swansea.com Stadium. The last bus service on Neath Road is scheduled for 10.35pm and 10.59pm respectively.
And the trains?
The nearest station to the stadium is Swansea High Street, around 1.5 miles away, but the last train service from Swansea is scheduled for 9.32pm.
Is smoking allowed inside the stadium?
No. Smoking (including e-cigarettes) is prohibited in all areas of the stadium.
Can I use cash inside?
No. Swansea.com Stadium operates as a cashless venue, so only card payments will be accepted. This includes all areas of the Stadium and Food Village.
