Ellie Goulding has revealed she is eight months pregnant with her first child.
The singer, 34, who married Caspar Jopling in 2019, revealed the new surprise to Vogue on Tuesday, revealing that she got pregnant during a trip celebrating her one-year birthday.
Ellie’s last major public appearance was at the V&A Museum last August, but she didn’t know she was expecting it at the time and kept a low profile during the lockdown.
She said: ‘We did the only show. I was pregnant and had no idea. It was [around] the moment Caspar and I left briefly when we were allowed to do so for our one year anniversary, and that’s basically where we found out.

“It was crazy because it was our first anniversary. It was not the plan. The idea of getting pregnant didn’t seem like a reality.
“Getting pregnant made me feel human. I want a better word than feminine, [but]- I have curves that I have never had before. I take advantage of it. My husband likes it.
Ellie said she had enjoyed a good streak of fitness before finding out about the happy news and said she “ started to have a whole different body and different energy. ”
She said she went from being a smug health freak to craving McDonald’s.
Ellie admitted that being pregnant during a pandemic felt like an experience of loneliness, but complaining about being pregnant was taboo.
But although she does know the gender of the baby, she admits that she wasn’t revealing the gender and that she just wanted a healthy baby.
Last week Ellie recalled the awkward moment she told an ex that she was in love with him, but he didn’t.
In a new interview, the Love Me Like You Do hitmaker reflected on this unfortunate encounter, admitting that she was previously “ too enthusiastic ” for romance.
Ellie confessed that she had to be ‘careful’ when writing love songs due to a past experience where she was too eager to express her love for a man.
Asked by Capital Breakfast host Roman Kemp if she used a romantic tune to express her love for someone, Ellie replied, “ That’s the problem though, because I love writing songs about it. love, you have to be careful.
“ In the past I’ve been really too enthusiastic … I once said to a guy, I’m just going to say it because why not …
“ I once told a guy that I was in love with him and he didn’t say it and didn’t say it for a long time. I honestly wanted the ground to allow me to fall into the dirt and never come back.

Last year, Ellie admitted that some of her past relationships – which included DJ Greg James, DJ Skrillex, McFly’s Dougie Poynter and actor Jeremy Irvine – were a waste of time.
There were also rumors of relationships with Ed Sheeran and even Prince Harry.
Speaking to PEOPLE, she said: ’20s was just a disaster in so many ways. I had those connections back then that were everything.
“A few years later, I say to myself: ‘Why did I waste their time and mine thinking that it was something more than it was?
