Even after years as a globe-trotting celebrity, it seems Eddie Redmayne is still able to get lost in his backyard.
The London-born actor was apparently spotted asking for directions during a lunch cycle in the capital’s Notting Hill area last Wednesday.
And, as our photos show, he was lucky enough to find a friendly passerby who was happy to help him.
One onlooker said: ‘He seemed to be slightly unsure of exactly where he was going.
“But after a brief conversation with a passing woman, he got back on his bike and cycled down Portobello Road.”
Redmayne, who won an Oscar for his portrayal of physicist Stephen Hawking in The Theory Of Everything, previously topped a list of Britain’s 50 best-dressed men in GQ magazine and was also credited for his sense of style by Vanity Fair.

But he looked a little less lively than usual among the fashionable Notting Hill crowd in his quilted jacket and ill-fitting jeans.
The 41-year-old, who was educated at Eton before taking a degree in art history at Cambridge, made his professional stage debut in a 2002 production of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. His screen credits include the Fantastic Beasts series, a Harry Potter spin-off.
A father-of-two, Redmayne won an Olivier Award last year for his role as emcee in the latest West End production of the musical Cabaret.
